They both love performing in Musical productions like: "Godspell"; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Raincoat"; and Fiddler on the Roof (can you picture Angie as Grandma Tzeitle?) Robert recently earned recognition for one of his songs at the annual Walnut Valley Festival songwiter competition in Winfield, KS.
Paul Wenske and Nancy Meis - This couple, with daughter Alexis, founded the Electric Prairie band. The band recorded two albums that included some of Paul's original songs. The E-Prairie band performed regularly at venues around Kansas City. At Homers Coffee House, "Spider" would join the the band playing bass, banjo and singing a song or two from the set list. (What set list?) Paul and Nancy are working on a soon to be released documentary video-CD about the history of Kansas City Gospel Music.
Bill and Chery Powell - This couple is new to the band culture but have performed duets at church, family reunions and jams with friends. Chery knows the all the "Beatles" and CSNY harmonies. and perfected "air guitar" moves on a cigar-box Telecaster. She is currently working on her new Uke. Spider took up guitar after college and found folk music, "fool-killers" and bluegrass during the reign of disco. In 2008 he was invited to join the Brookside Express band that later won the KC Arts Council Battle of the Bands. He and bandmate Roland Manbeck went on to form the Kaw Mountain Band including "Maggies" Paul and Robert.
